Hey Everyone- 

I’m opening for a band from Louisiana at the Coach House called the Subdudes. Check out there website at www.subdudes.com. They’re an incredible band with an sound that is unique to that part of our states. Their musicianship is incredible. Their vocals are rich.

 I normally do my Blues thing at the Coach House- like when I opened up for Johnny Winter. This time the Coach House asked me to do an acoustic set. I will be featuring Joe Villegas on bass and Adam Idell (my blues band drummer) on hand percussion.   Joe is an excellent bass player with a killer voice. Adam (BFA in percussion - Cal Arts) is a highly accomplished percussionist. As you know I have been involved in many acoustic projects the past two years. Even though Blues is my main focus the acoustic projects have been a fun and interesting experience. Here’s yet another one. This will be an awesome evening.

My new CD endangered species is pressed. It’s a great album. CD’s are now available by contacting me or coming to my live performances. My calendar is just starting to fill up for fall and winter. It will soon be available via the internet and iTunes shortly. There are many people who made this album possible. To all of you - who know exactly who you are - I send my deepest appreciation for all your amazing and fabulous work. Some of you who prepaid in advanced to help towards the making of this album will be receiving your CD(s) soon. •  Just got back from Europe with the Santana Tribute Band. This project has opened up many new doors for all of us. We had a great time in Europe.  The U.S. military invited us to join them in celebrating the 4th of July.

Hi Friends and Family.  It’s been a while since my last blog. I’ve been blessed with a full schedule since May. My new CD Endangered Species is mixed, mastered,  and engineered.  Thanks to Juliet Conlon’s and Debbie Crowell’s amazing artwork, the album IS NOW BEING PRESSED & GLASSED!

The Alvas Live Recording Show was successful. Thank you to all my friend’s, fan’s, and family’s support we were able to make a Americana Blues Rock Album. I start the finishing touches after my summer touring. Please drop me a line. I’d love to hear from you.

I’d like to let everyone know that on June 2, 2008 I am officially a dad! Koa Alexander Alvarez.  5 lbs 1.5 oz 18 ” long.  He came early and now Koa and Mom are home doing great. 

Hey everybody. Hope you’re all enjoying life and doing what you’re meant to do with your life on this planet. The long awaited band cd is about finished and we’re just waiting to get it mastered. The mastering engineer is one of the best in the world and doesn’t have an opening until April 7th. Then it needs to be pressed which usually takes about 10 days. Well we are finally nearing completion of the third Chuck Alvarez Band CD. After a long process and a few delays we are finally getting there. Dave Swanson, the producer has been sending me final mixes so we anticipate a March release. (more…)

I’ve been a Leon fan since I was about 20 years old and have always thought he is one of the best rock writers we’ve had in the last 50 years. In case you don’t know some of his songs include “Jumpin’ Jack Flash”, “This Masquerade”, “Up On The Tight Rope”. Also Edgar Winter had numerous FM hits and still put’s on a rockin’ show.      So this is the new site. I will be taking a more active role in what goes on here. With the help of my web site gurus I will be posting some interesting videos and you will always find a free song or two to download. Make sure to check back regularly as new songs will be offered every 90 days or so.

     Also in view of the changes that have gone on in the music business in recent years and the way it seems to be going, you will often find a bit of commentary that hopefully will invite your response.This site will be growing rapidly as we add music that I have written and/or produced over the years. Some of the older projects may or may not be of the highest quality but I believe the writing is often good and there are sometimes other reasons that I think they have some value, and therefore they will become available here.

     It is my commitment to continue to produce quality music and make it available to you. The new Chuck Alvarez Band cd is nearing completion and will be available by March 2008.
