Super Bowl Sunday with the rock legends

January 26th, 2008 by Chuck

Please come join us for the best Super Bowl party in the west, with great entertainment, giant screens, gorgeous views, food and drink all for only $110.00. To top it off it’s a charity event where your $ go to Habitat For Humanity and other worthwhile charities. Don’t miss this party right in our own back yard. I’m looking forward to opening for Leon Russell and Edgar Winter. I’ve been a Leon fan since I was about 20 years old and have always thought he is one of the best rock writers we’ve had in the last 50 years. In case you don’t know some of his songs include “Jumpin’ Jack Flash”, “This Masquerade”, “Up On The Tight Rope”. Also Edgar Winter had numerous FM hits and still put’s on a rockin’ show. We hit the stage at noon followed by the two greats. Game time is 3:20. For tickets and details click link below.

New Site and blogging

January 3rd, 2008 by Chuck

So this is the new site. I will be taking a more active role in what goes on here. With the help of my web site gurus I will be posting some interesting videos and you will always find a free song or two to download. Make sure to check back regularly as new songs will be offered every 90 days or so.

Also in view of the changes that have gone on in the music business in recent years and the way it seems to be going, you will often find a bit of commentary that hopefully will invite your response. This site will be growing rapidly as we add music that I have written and/or produced over the years. Some of the older projects may or may not be of the highest quality but I believe the writing is often good and there are sometimes other reasons that I think they have some value, and therefore they will become available here.

It is my commitment to continue to produce quality music and make it available to you. The new Chuck Alvarez Band cd is nearing completion and will be available by March 2008.

Enjoy the site.
Feel free to comment and please come back often.

Calico Ghost Town

December 30th, 2007 by Chuck

It’s the day before New Years Eve and Chuck is playing a gig with GRAMMY Nominee Lisa Haley and the Zydekats in Calico Ghost Town. This silver mining town has an interesting history.

Lisa always plays with World Class Musicians. This show featured World Renown drummer Maria Martinez along with Skip Edwards on accordian. Skip was one of Dwight Yoakam’s long time keyboard players. Of course Chuck Alvarez on the Guitar, one of Tim Weisburg’s guitar players for many years. Lisa, of course, one of the best fiddle players in the country. The late Clifton Chenier once gave Lisa the ultimate compliment…”That girl plays as good as a man.”

Listening to this band do their stuff is an honor and a treat. For Photos Click Here
